How can I keep the dog out of my garden.?

I have built up flower beds so I don't think a fence would work. My plants get TRAMPELED dug up and broken. I am SO frustrated. I’ve tried putting sticks all over my garden, cayenne pepper in places where digging is repeated (this works somewhat) I don’t know what else to do. ANY IDEAS TIPS OR SUGGESTINS? PLEASE HELP! (outdoor dog mainly)

you can also put chicken wire down just below the soft layer of dirt. you plants can grow through and the dog will hate the feeling when he tries to dig there.

I would reccomend that you do this first and leave it that way for a little while (little or no plants yet) then when the dog stops the bad behavior, then replant what you want and he will stop. also adding a bit of citrus will help keep him out once the plants are back in.
Reply:what you need is this: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/s...

it's the spray away motion sensor sprinkler with adjustable detector.
Reply:Sprinkle moth flakes in it. Dogs don't like the smell.
Reply:Put the dog indoors.
Reply:We built a kennel, works great. Everyone is happy. I can work in the garden, and she watches. These sprays, etc, only frustrate your pet. Make it a natural enviroment, is'nt thats what it is about? Be Happy!!!
Reply:What about an invisible fence?
Reply:Use a citrus-based spray. Dogs detest citrus.

Check your local garden or pet store. It can be pricy.

Good Luck!
Reply:use a fence
Reply:put something that smells in ur garden to scare the dog off if that dosent work i say tough
