Does anyone know how to get rid of slugs in your flower gardens?
Hire a couple of hookers to stand out on the corner
Reply:beer does work, any cheap kind will do. there is also a pellet you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot that kills slugs and snails that is safe for flowers and vegetable gardens, I used it on mine.

If you have beer in thr fridge that is probably cheaper to use, but both work well.
Reply:I heard that if you fill a bowl w/ beer, they are attracted to the smell, they will crawl in and drown. No joke
Reply:throw some salt on them
Reply:Be careful when buying slug bait; the most common brands out there are harmful to birds, wildlife and pets. I have seen some brands at nurseries that are safe to use, so be sure to look for these ones.
Reply:Fish Aquarium Salt.

Slugs don't like the salt. It burns them. Sprinkle some around the flowers. and near the borders. With it being aquarium salt it will not dissolve as easy as normal salt.
Reply:Place a small container of beer in your flower bed. Just a capful.

It works.
Reply:Make a border with crushed egg shells. I really works. Go to a few local restaurant's and ask them to save them for you. (Breakfast %26amp; Brunch places) Crush them up but not too small and the slugs won't cross them because it scratches them up.
Reply:You can pour a can of beer in a hose sprayer with your favorite fertilizer mix(like Miracle Grow, etc.) and dilute with water to fill the sprayer, and that will work to keep out bugs, and have more beautiful flowers.

There are also slug traps and bait.
Reply:don`t worry about your flower garden, luvie, i have got a load of them in my kitchen.

if you dont want to use chemicals, get some chickens, or a couple of geese, or a frog or two...
Reply:step on them or use chemicals but becareful if you use the wrong chemicals you migh kill your flowers!
Reply:yes we had a slug problem before salt they wont go near it and if you pour it on them they die although I hate to see anything get killed just for being a pest.
Reply:salt
Reply:Yes indeed. I even had slugs slithering up my house windows on the lower level........gross. Put some BEER into a pie pan and place it in your garden...............the stupid slugs get in it and drink it and they actually die. I actually did this and it is for real. It does work. After this you can feel comfortable about walking barefoot outside again ...... no stepping on a slug between your toes anymore..............lol Try it ! it does work!
Reply:set out some containers of beer throughout the garden. they will go right in it and you'll find them dead in the dish. it works.
Reply:i think salt will do the trick
