I saw a snake in my flower garden.?

I know snakes are suppose to be good, but I'm terrified of them. How do I discourage them from coming into my yard?

There are repellents that will keep the out of your yard that are not expensive
Reply:Check a stor near you that sells outdoor appliances, they may have a snake repellant that you can apply throughout the garden.
Reply:I am no snake expert, but I did catch them a lot when I was a kid. They like to hide in woodpiles, and under rocks... If you get rid of the nice, cosy snake homes then they should move on. Keep your grass and weeds trimmed and bugs under control. Otherwise I don't think there's much you can do. If they're not poisonous, don't worry about them. They're really more scared of you than you are of them.
Reply:I know of a plant called 'pandan' in Asian language. Asians use this in their cooking. I am not sure what it's called in English. Anyway, this plant emits a rather pleasant smell for us humans, but it really helps to ward off all snakes.
Reply:All snakes bite even if non poisonous. I would concrete the yard and buy your veggies!

How does one get the tiny balls off a moth?
Reply:use snake repellent.
Reply:The huge majority of snakes are harmless and its probably doing you a favour by eating rats and mice and other vermin.

As long as its not venemous it'd suggest leaving it alone and letting it get on with its life.
Reply:crush his head like Mary would
Reply:They sell a product called snake away at most garden and feed stores. Or you can spread moth balls in your garden. Both will keep snakes away. But you can expect more rodents and insects in your garden without the snakes there. Mice are more dangerous than snakes as they can carry diseases.
Reply:put moth balls around your yard.
Reply:There really is no way to keep the snakes away. The snake isn't going to hurt you no madder how scared you are. You're more likly to hurt yourself in the result of fear than a snake hurting you. It's just passing by, remeber you're in ITS territory, its family prolly was in that area years before you were. Some garter snakes actually eat insects that may actually bother you. think of them that way, if of course you dont like insects.
Reply:put up wooden boards, just make sure you can still see your flowers,
Reply:Usually they live alone, so if you buy a rubber snake and leave it in your yard, it should scare off other snakes.
Reply:landmines
Reply:garden snakes arn't harmful. grab one kill it and cut it open, leave its dead body as a reminder for ther snakes that they shouldnt come around or they will die...
