Vegetable Garden Vs. Flower Garden? Bugs....?
Vegetable gardens attract a wider range of insects due to the nature of the foliage and vegetables simply because a wider range of pests feed on the vegetation. If you want to combine flowers and vegetables, marigolds are great since they deter insects and are easy to maintain.
Reply:Actually, you should grow them together - intergrated pest management - thus providing a variety of ordors/ scents/ colours and so on that confuses the heck out of the bugs and reduces the likelyhood to have any stopping in for a meal.
Reply:they both attract both pests and beneficial pests read up on what you want to plant and see what is best to put next to one another, you can have both in the same garden and it would be lovely.
