Has anyone ever used one of those "Instant flower garden" rolls?

They have some on QVC for a good price. I would like to get a roll to put out in front of my house but I want to know if anyone has ever used them and were they successful? I am terrible at planting flowers so I thought this would be a good thing for me to get. Do they work? Please, if you have used these, let me know how you liked them. Thank you!!

I've done two (at different points in my life). They are almost worthless. Very few seeds germinated, and the ones that did germinate did not last long as they were not for my zone.



Also, there is very little time saved: you still have to prepare the bed.



You are better off to prepare the bed, then choose the EXACT plants you want (rather than rely on what some manufacturer predetermined would be nice in a roll).

Reply:I have not but my parents have and they work wonderful.
Reply:They don't work. It is better to plant already started flowers or spread seed on the soil and place Miracle Gro outdoor garden soil on top (not to much though, only enough to bury the seeds).
Reply:those things are junky. just go get some plants at lowes or walmart. i just got some the other day, they were three inches tall and like $0.86 each.
Reply:I bought one of these once and I didn't grow anything, not even one little flower. I would say save your money and buy something that works.
