How do i keep deer out of my vegetable and flower garden?

If you have a Bass Pro shop near you, they carry scents that keep away deer. Urine from bears, etc. You put the scent on the posts around your garden.

shoot them
Reply:My grandparents saved the hair clippings from hair cuts and put them in the toe of panty hose stocking wound it in a ball and hung it from the trees. Grandpa said that the deer will smell the hair and leave the tree alone. It seems to work but you have to keep the hair clippings fresh or eventually the deer will ignore them.
Reply:hang some dirty clothes or dirty sheets up by your garden
Reply:6 foot high chicken wire fence.
Reply:electric fence
Reply:everybody is right. One more thing is dried blood .You can find it in a garden store

"NO DEER ALLOWED - OFFENDERS WILL BE PROSECUTED"

or put some stakes in the ground, get some barbed wire and make a fence.
Reply:Very tough to do!

I had them eating my sweet corn!

I went to all the local beauty shops and used human hair,( they hate our smell and really try to avoid us.) along with some moth balls, dog feces and a transistor radio set to an am talk station. It did work but I don't think I will do that again. The Moth balls were horrible and so was the dog doo!

I had to do this in a drought season when I was the only one around watering the corn. Between the deer and raccoons, I still lost 1/2!

Deer can jump up to 10 ft high so a fence is useless.

Reply:Get hair clippings from your local beauty shop. Put them in a old pair of hose and hang them or up them where they will catch the scent.
