Mulch. It looks nice and will slow down the weeds. To keep it totally weed free you'll still have a few weeds that will work their way through to pull out.
Flower garden is weed free. How do I keep this way. Is there some chemical I can put down to stop the weeds.
There is a Weed and Feed formula available from Preen. It prevents weeds, and fertilizes at the same time. You simply sprinkle it over the garden to prevent weeds from sprouting. I've used it for several years now, and my garden is almost weed free.
Reply:Mulch is the best. Weeds that sprout have to work to hard to make it through the mulch layer. And then there are pre emergents. Look up preen.
Reply:Chemicals will kills the flowers too. Lay newspaper down between plants and mulch it over
Reply:yea the newspaper works and the mulch, but use sheep poo, it doesn't smell that bad-better than mulch
