What can you do to get rid of squirrels in your garden, digging up flower bulbs?

How to control the squirrels digging up my flower beds, I live in Ontario Canada in the city of Ajax. This has started this last spring but, it could have been going on for awhile as I have just moved here in Jan 2005. Could I use a bulb of Garlic to get rid of them

Thank you,

A neighbor kid with a BB gun or a slingshot works great. Just pay $1.00 for each squirrel and have them get rid of the prize for you.
Reply:u could soak some seeds in some kind of chile oil, and leave them dotted around the garnden. after a while the squirells may learn a lesson, and u can start plantin plants u want 2 plant
Reply:take the bulbs out and put dynamite in there place ,that will sort the little beggars out
Reply:watch the movie"Caddie Shack", and follow inclosed directions.
Reply:I planted garlic bulbs in a few of my gardens---only to check a few days later and they were gone!!! I think I now have squirrels with garlic breath, maybe I should try planting some breath mints.
