How can I get the flowering bulbs in my south alabama garden to bloom?
DId you add any mix to the soil before planting? If not then that could be the problem.
Also if they are older bulbs they may not have the energy needed to bloom if they have " babies ". I would suggest digging them up and seperating the babies and adding a good compost before replanting.
If squirrels of chipmunks have damaged the bulbs they will not flower either. HArd to tell without digging them up to see.
Good luck.

Reply:bulbs mostly like extreme temperatures. In your temperate climate, you may want to dig them up every year. Then, in the spring, two weeks before you plant them, stick them in the freezer. Plant them frozen. This should trick them into thinking they went through a winter, shock them enough to bloom. Good Luck!
