You should only use about 25% ashe mixed in a mulch.

too many of ashes prevents your garden fro growing about a liter (pound) should go onto a good size garden.

Reply:Ash is good for rhododendrons and azaleas. I would mix them with some soil and spread it as top dressing. Good Luck
Reply:yes, but don't leave them on the surface. blend them into the top inch or 2 of soil.
