What is the best scent for a flower?

I am doing a project for a garden and I need a strong flower scent, other than roses. This flower has to grow in Colorado though.

What is the best scent for a flower?
Try dianthus. It is a small perennial that has small very fragrant flowers. Some varieties of it are evergreen. My favorite variety is Cheddar Pinks. It has a soft pink, carnation like bloom with blue-green foliage...it's one that is an evergreen and I love it in the winter with a little bit of snow around it. It's beautiful in all seasons.

Their scent is very soft and sweet. It's undescribeable. It's my favorite scent of any flower. Once you smell it, you will see what I mean. Find some at your local nursery and smell it........

The second link has a good picture and info on cheddar pinks.

Reply:I have a dwarf gardenia that emits a great scent. Likes lots of sun, water and acid soil. If you don't have enough acid in your soil, you can chop up pieces of lime and add to your soil.

Have fun!
Reply:Jasmine and Lavender.
