Vegetable Garden Vs. Flower Garden?
I can't choose one over the other. I do both. There are also benefits to planting certain flowers around veggie plants, they repel certain bad insets. There are also many edible flowers that I use in the summer.
Reply:If your going to invest the time, get something out of it. You can at least eat the vegetables.
Reply:vegetable garden - you pick your own vegetables and save money. Besides its nice to look at something that grows that you've taken care of. ;-)

Flowers tend to increase the aesthetic of a property and increase its value.
Personally I prefer a vegetable garden, but people seem to think that working the land causes it to down in value.
Reply:RScottI'm going to circumvent a little and tell you to plant both together. Make this garden a study of "companion planting" there are many sources touting best companions or you can experiment with your plants and see what happens. I get more enjoyment from my garden when I can pick and eat a strawberry and smell a rose at the same time.
