Call out to all the garden and flower guru's out there!! i really really need help!!!!?

i bought this plant at a produce stand and she said she thought it was a mexican petunia, so i brought it home and replanted it and it was looking pretty good, but now after about a month or so, it's starting to look like it's dying and i need help to save it!! i don't know if i'm watering it too much or not enough (i water about once a week) or if it's in too much sun (i have it in full sun and i live in central florida) i looked up online, but the plant i have doesn't really look like the pictures of a mexican petunia- the flowers look similar, but the plant itself actually looks like little mini palm trees- the stalks look like a palm tree and there's nothing growing on them and then the tops have thin leaves and then it does flower, although it hasn't been doing too much of that recently!! can someone please help me save my plant!!! thanks!!!

You need to move it in a shadier area.Try not overwatering but just keep it moist. Also you can show your plant or a picture of it to a florist. They would be able to identify it as well as let you know what can be done to save it.
Reply:Without seeing a pic it is difficult to say what plant you might have.

A good guideline for watering is to wait until at least the top inch of soil has dried out.

If your plant was in bloom when you purchased it it might just be resting. Some plants slow down after blooming and then come back with more blooms later. Put a couple drops of Miracle Gro plant food in your water and give it some time.
