Do we put this down to global warming ?

Oh heaven... I just came back from a bike ride in freezing wind. I am in CT and NOTHING is blooming here yet!

Heck the weeds are still dormant and the ground is frozen
Reply:almost everything in London is flowering or about to flower in mid february.its not g/warming its just a warm phase and the opposite will occur in the coming years.Thing that flower in early april are flowering now.
Reply:nothing in NY yet.... but birds are starting to build nests.. :)
Reply:Just the stuff that normally blooms this time of year. Early crocuses are spreading little patches of sunshine everywhere, winter jasmine is blooming and hellebores also. Actually the jasmine and hellebores are a bit late this year, should have started in January. Daffodils are up and budded but not blooming yet.

Weather patterns are strange this year, don't know whether it is attributable to global warming or not. Winters are warmer here, that is certain and tornado season has started a lot earlier.
Reply:I have the usuals in flower - the Mahonia is still pretty, and the Viburnum Bodnantense is in full bloom, the crocuses and daffs are showing and the primulas are flowering away .... I do have a rogue Penstemmon that seems to have forgotten that it's Winter BUT the Quince is flowering very early! I think this is a little blip on the the weather scale ... not sure we have enough variation to put it down to global warming just yet! :-)
