Vacation garden question?
They make these stakes that are really cheap and screw onto the top of a coke bottle. Fill the bottle with water, screw on a stake, stick it in the ground, and the water slowly leaks out into the ground. You could also try doing the same thing by putting a small hole in the top of the bottle and burying the top in the ground. That won't last for a really long time, but it would probably work for a couple of days.
Reply:there is a product called "aqua globe." it feeds your plants the just right amount of water for up to two weeks! but if your plants are really big, you should use something bigger, it's for potted plants, not gardens. :-( or ask a friend/neighbor.
Reply:Get a drip system or soaker hose and hook it up to a timer. That's what we do... so I never have to remember to water. I just check moisture levels occasionally to make sure that the moisture level is okay. Goodluck!
Reply:1. There is a product at your gardening center that can be added to the soil and will retain water over a long period.

2. Pay a neighbor to water your plants.

3. Also discuss the problem with your county agent.
Reply:take a moist towel that is very old and raggy. wte it and put it in your plants.also you can water them alot before you go. also you may be able to pay some one to water and care for your yard while you are gone
