Lemon Balm has taken over my flower garden. What can I plant to fight back and also please the birds?

Please name some native species if you can.

Lemon Balm is very invasive and must be controlled. Planting something in competition with it is unlikely to work. It is classed as a herb and is very competitive.

Try some weedkiller that you apply just to each plant and not the surrounding ones or you will kill them aswell. A garden centre will have what you need.

The other alternative is to allow each plant to grow and pull it up. If you make sure that no flowers set seed this year, you will be unlikely to have this problem next year.
