i have just found this plant in the garden. it has red like claws growing from a green like stem and the roots look like that they are growing out of a soft style egg shell? it is really strange as we havnt planted anything. we are just wanting to know if its poisoness and what we should do about it? there is two plants growing at this time..
thankyou to anyone that can help.
I am trying to identify a weed or flower in the garden?
Here's what I recommend. I don't actually have any idea what this plant is you are talking about, although it sounds like it is coming up from a bulb.
So...if other people on here tell you any names of things they think it might be, then go to google search and click on images. Then type in the name that someone gave you and there should come up some pictures of things with that name. If it looks like the one you have, then you will know that is the one.
However, if none of these turns out to be right and you are afraid it might be poisonous, then I would wear some gloves and go dig it up or pull it out or whatever and put it in a clear plastic bag. You must be sure that this bag is sealed up and closed really good.
Then you take it to a local nursery and ask them if they know what it is. The reason you keep it in a clear SEALED bag, is that you can see through the bag without having to open it and it has to be sealed in case it has any diseases or bugs on it and it won't spread to all those nice, new plants in the nursery. PLEASE be responsible about it if you take one there. It really needs to be in a bag.
Anyway, good luck on finding out what it is. Who knows, it may turn out to be something really beautiful that you can enjoy for years!
Reply:not sure
Reply:if you send a picture it would get better results...
Reply:egg shell is probably a BULB....
regardless if you planted or not yet...bulbs come back every year if they survive the frost and winter
check in your yard in the surrounding areas BEFORE you start planting to remove other bulbs
